Paid Summer Positions for US Citizens

I know midterms are next week, but these are some great paid opportunities to consider and apply for before the March 11th deadline!!

Cheers,
Jeremy Redmond
SGU SCAVMA President

To all veterinary students:

Please find below 9 summer student trainee positions with USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.  There are 5 field positions, 3 staff positions, a position in Ames, Iowa and one in Fort Collins.
PLEASE NOTE THESE VACANCIES ARE ONLY OPEN FOR A WEEK UNTIL MARCH 11, 2013.
A few important reminders:

  • Only US citizens may apply
  • Relocation expenses will not be paid
  • I recommend that students print out the instructions on what is mandated for the application and cross off each requirement as it is completed.  Each year students do not even qualify for an application review because their submissions are incomplete.
  • The individual urls to apply for each position are listed directly under the position heading
  • It would be very helpful to include a cover letter with each application.  The cover letter should provide your available dates (e.g., when your finish with school and when you need to go back) and a brief description of your interests and objectives.
  • Veterinary students are encouraged to apply for the National Scrapie Program Staff  position even if they do not have a Master's degree.
  • PLEASE NOTE THESE VACANCIES ARE ONLY OPEN FOR A WEEK UNTIL MARCH 11, 2013.
